OPEN FORUM
Sunday 27th June 2010
All One Nation supporters and the general public are invited to attend the next open forum on Sunday 27th June 2010 at 2.00PM.
Venue : Camden Community Hall, Carlisle Street, Camden Park, SA
Guest Speaker : Mr Philip Benwell MBE, the National Chairman of the Australian Monarchist League.Philip Benwell (pictured at right) started his working life as
a
tea planter and then became involved in trading and later in merchant banking.
He was honoured with the Order of the British Empire in 1976.
In 1993, with the support of the late Dame Pattie Menzies, he co-ordinated the activities of the Queen Elizabeth Gate Appeal in Australia raising what is understood to be the largest contribution from any Commonwealth country.
He was then asked to take over the leadership of the Australian Monarchist League in Australia and became its first National Chairman and developed the organisation into a major participant in the debate on Australias Constitutional Monarchy. His involvement in League activities over the past ten years has been on a full time and totally voluntary basis and now leaves no time for business whatsoever resulting in the League becoming the most active organisation promoting the role of the Constitutional Monarchy and in defending The Crown against attack.
The successes of the Australian Monarchist League under Benwells chairmanship are too numerous to mention, but they include persuading Toyota to drop an advertising campaign and the Commonwealth Bank to re-name a marketing initiative. The League is also credited with the success of the Queens Stamps, the re-printing of The Queens Five Dollar Note and the distribution of prints of The Queen as well as the now common celebrations of The Queens personal birthday by Loyal and religious organisations.
Philip Benwell was accorded the distinct honour of addressing both the Conservative Constitution Committee and the Cross Benches of the House of Lords on the Constitutional Referendum Australia on a visit to Great Britain in 1999. He is a popular speaker in Australia and internationally and has been a main speaker at several Sovereignty rallies at Trafalgar Square in London and has also spoken on many occasions to meetings in the House of Lords.
In 2003, his book, entitled "In Defence of Australias Constitutional Monarchy", was published in the United States of America and has sold well, particularly in the USA, Canada and the UK as a political science text book for use in Universities and Schools.
BE INFORMED : BE THERE : TELL YOUR FRIENDS : ASK QUESTIONS
Afternoon tea will be provided. A collection will be taken to defray out of pocket expenses. A raffle will also be conducted in conjunction with a trading table.

From The Desk of The State Director :
"The Nanny State"
Its
a phrase we will be hearing a lot more in the future, what is a "nanny state",
well its the gradual degeneration of good old Australian individuality and
Recently a group of Adelaide Hills residents and volunteers banded together to
stage a modest charity fund raiser in aid of African children. What seemed like a simple task of organising the event became bureaucratic stupidity, those taking part had to be officially vetted, apparantly to make sure they werent terrorists and poisoners with their home made produce offered for sale.Without question it is regulation gone stark raving mad, all in order to protect
the backsides of those running the myriad forms of over government. However it is only a sample of things to come, in Manchester in England a pet
shop owner and great grand mother called Joan Higgins, 66 has just been fined $1,700, given a night curfew order and made to wear an electronic tag for breaching new animal welfare laws by selling gold fish to a 14 year old boy, actually, she was lucky, offenders can be punished by up to 12 months in the slammer.Across in Switzerland, new animal protection laws stipulate pigs, budgies, goldfish and other social animals can no longer be kept alone. In a land mark case in Zurich, the countrys first animal lawyer, one Antoine Goetshel, actually represented a dead pike after an animal protection group accused the angler who caught it of cruelty for taking 10 minutes to land the fish.
Back in Britain proposed dog control laws are to be introduced meaning every dog owner will have to fit their pet with a microchip so its whereabouts can be determined by spy-in-the-sky drones, that before taking delivery of a puppy you will have to sit an exam, at a cost of $100 on top of which you will need compulsory third party insurance in case your spaniel eats the postman.
Over in Melbourne, Aussie racing car ace Mark Webber also stirred the possum by branding Victoria a Nanny State where the growing number of rules and regulations left him feeling as though he needed to read an instruction book before getting out of bed.
About 80 per cent of Victorians polled agreed with him, at least theres a growing awareness of how over-regulated we are becoming, will things change, bet not.
Just think, coming soon to our state the nanny state, or has it arrived.

Would Be Migrants Include Terrorists Warning
The Federal Governments weak and hopeless attempts to stop illegal migrants from coming into Australia, whether they are called refugees or not, would be laughable if they were not so serious, its claimed.
A federal election candidate for One Nation, Robert Edmonds, said no other country in the world, except perhaps New Zealand, would tolerate regular boatloads of illegal would-be migrants paying for a voyage to their coast.
"Most countries would use their navies to either tow the so-called people smugglers out to sea or sink the boats, rescue those on board and drop them off on the coast of the country they had just left," Mr. Edmonds said.
"In Australia, the Federal Government uses the navy to take the would-be migrants to our Christmas Island where we feed them, provide accommodation and medical care and then bring them into Australia.
"Because Christmas Island is full, the government is now bringing them straight into Australia, which is exactly what the would-be migrants want."
Mr. Edmonds said that apart from disrupting Australias immigration program, the would-be migrants were coming to Australian territory illegally, jumping the queue of legitimate migrants and posing a security threat.
It was no secret that many of the would-be migrants or so-called refugees were almost certainly members of terrorist groups wanting to infiltrate Australia.
"The Rudd Government clearly has no idea of how to handle the stream of potentially dangerous people now being brought into Australia," Mr. Edmonds said.
"The many thousands of legitimate refugees around the world are able to seek help from numerous aid agencies to enter Australia legally and this is assisted by us and other developed countries."

WARNING TO ALL YOUNG AUSTRALIANS
You live in a wonderful country, in a wonderful world but irresponsible politicians are destroying both.
In Australia, past generations worked hard under the most difficult conditions to create a prosperous and independent nation but our politicians have destroyed Australias industries and made us almost totally dependent on foreigners.
INDUSTRIES SERVE MANY USEFUL PURPOSES.
First of all THEY PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT for many people including those who would have difficulty finding work especially migrants who speak little or no English.
Young people are encouraged to take a university degree in order to find work but many do not have the academic ability to do so. Practical ability is as important as academic ability and industries provide opportunities for people to develop their practical ability.
MANY INDUSTRIES PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR WORKERS TO ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Which are very beneficial both to them and to the nation.
Almost EVERYTHING YOU PURCHASE IS EITHER FULLY IMPORTED OR MADE IN AUSTRALIA BY A FOREIGN OWNED COUNTRY
And the profit goes overseas untaxed. This gives rise to our foreign debt which is money we owe to other countries and on which we pay interest which at one stage was $110,000,000 per day.
AUSTRALIA HAS BECOME VERY DEPENDENT ON CHINA. It is unwise to become very dependent on any other nation and with all its natural resources Australia should endeavour to be as independent as possible.
MOST WESTERN COUNTRIES HAVE ENORMOUS DEBTS AND UNEMPLOYMENT BECAUSE THEY HAVE DESTROYED THEIR INDUSTRIES.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
GROWING POPULATION IS FEEDING URBAN SPRAWL AND BLEEDING US DRY.
When will these politicians and economists get it? Recently the assistant governor (economic) of the Reserve Bank, Phillip Lowe, said he would "like to touch on three of the broad challenges The second is the need to increase the supply of housing for a growing population." Wrong, wrong, wrong. The challenge is to reduce the supply of population so that further increases in the supply of housing become unnecessary.
It is not only a "challenge". It is one of the most important things for Australia to do. So much would follow from it. Stop the maniac increase in population and most of the woes that all of the politicians are carrying on about can be mostly or at least partially solved : housing scarcity and cost; infrastructure wearing out; parental leave; environmental degradation; loss of agricultural land to urbanisation; crowed public transport; dams that cannot provide enough water; long hospital waiting lists; congested roads; and so it goes on.
Housing, of all things, proves the point. Why has housing become so unaffordable? It has nothing to do with construction costs. Even with all the mad planning bureaucracy, construction costs have increased by less than inflation over the past 30 years. The reason houses cost an ever greater proportion of income is the increased cost of land. They are not making any more of it. And while ever Australia brings in 300,000 or so people a year and has another 150,000 births it is going to cost a lot more.
