ONE NATION TO CONTEST TWO STATE BY-ELECTIONS

The by-elections on Saturday, 11th February 2012, for the seats of Port Adelaide and Ramsay in South Australia's Parliament will be an opportunity for people living in both electorates to show their anger at what the Labor Government is doing.

By not voting for any pro-Labor candidates in Port Adelaide and Ramsay, voters who would normally support Labor in a state election can feel comfortable about not voting the government out of office while showing they are not pleased with it.

Other voters who would not vote Labor in any election will almost certainly have a much shorter list of candidates of possibly only one in Port Adelaide of Grant Carlin, representing One Nation, and possibly only one in Ramsay of Chris Walsh, also representing One Nation.

Currently, the only known non-Labor candidates for both electorates are Grant Carlin and Chris Walsh.

The final list of names on the ballot papers for each electorate will not be known until nominations close later this month.

In Port Adelaide, the likely list of candidates appears to have at least three names of people who seem to support what the Labor Government is doing, which gives voters little choice if they want to send a message that they are not happy.

The only certain way of telling Labor in general, including the Federal Government, that you don't like what they are doing is to put the figure one against Grant Carlin's name in Port Adelaide and against Chris Walsh's name in Ramsay.

BLACK HOLE IN PUBLIC SERVICE : Can you believe this - the South Australian State Government does not know the exact number of public servants they employ in South Australia. The SA Division of One Nation requested this information back in October 2009 - nothing has changed - the information wasn't available then.

Retirees battle to eke out existence

  • by: Alice Monfries ; From: Sunday Mail (SA)  :February 05, 2012 10:10AM

MORE than half of our older South Australians do not have enough money to live comfortably in their retirement years, the 2011 Sunday Mail SA reader survey has found.

Click here for complete Sunday Mail survey

The survey of 2019 people across the state - conducted online in November and December - reveals 56.5 per cent of respondents aged over 55 are struggling just to cover basic living expenses.

Electricity bills top the list of financial pressures, with 80 per cent admitting it is a primary concern, followed closely by water bills (67 per cent).

The poll was carried out over 24 days and asked 50 questions on a variety of topics concerning our state, lifestyles and views. Issues affecting older South Australians were among the strongest results, with findings including:

ALMOST three in four older residents from the northern suburbs (73 per cent) believe they do not have enough money to live comfortably compared with 64 per cent in the western suburbs, 60 per cent in the southern suburbs, 39 per cent in the east and 53 per cent in rural areas;

MORE than 40 per cent list failing health as their greatest fear of growing older, followed by losing their partner (27 per cent);

A QUARTER of retirees left the workforce because of health reasons; and

MORE than 40 per cent believe the elderly are treated worse than younger people by staff in shops.

Council on the Ageing chief executive Ian Yates said the results reflected the growing number of pensioners whose quality of life was slipping as they struggled to keep on top of rising utility costs.

"We are hearing from emergency welfare agencies that they're beginning to see more older people coming to them because they can't pay a significant bill," he said.

"What we have found is when pensioners can't meet their bills, they have a very strong ethic to pay the bills so they cut back on food, transport, going out - and I don't mean to the theatre or dinner but just basic social activities, and they also cut back on health costs.

"We think the pension is still too low for our current society and ought to be increased.

"We also think the State Government has an obligation to increase concessions.

"It's of grave concern to us that these essential services are increasing at such a rate with no compensation in terms of concessions."

UnitingCare Wesley advocacy and communication manager Mark Henley said mounting electricity and water costs had been hitting elderly people particularly hard because they were on fixed incomes.

"Their incomes aren't going up at the same rate as the cost of essential services, which is why there is stress," he said.

"Electricity has been going up at a much faster rate than inflation for a decade now and there was a really big hike in 2004 when the electricity market was privatised.

"While prices came down a fraction a couple of years after, the reality is electricity prices and water, to an extent, have just kept on going up and people do not see an end in sight.

"People are saying we've cut back on electricity use, we've done all the efficiency energy-saving stuff and we're still struggling to pay our bills - what hope do we have?"

Mr Henley said the results reflected a need for governments and banking institutions to revisit the superannuation scheme.

"Is it working and delivering benefits to middle and lower income households in their retirement or is it a process that has predominantly benefited our richer population," he said.

"The data is saying to me that we need to revisit superannuation and make it a bit fairer."

Social commentator David Chalke said issues facing our older South Australians were unique to the state because its population was ageing faster than the rest of the country.

"Therefore it is particularly important for policy-makers and businesses to take note of what these results are saying for the older population," he said.

"Are they worried about the future? Yes, of course they are when you have electricity prices going through the roof, water prices doing the same thing and council rates gouging you.

"These results don't surprise me and in SA you're going to feel it more acutely because you've got an ageing population and there's also a variety of economic factors.

"You don't have the boom that WA has got, or the vibrant young migrant population that Sydney and Melbourne have got, and you haven't got the growth that Queensland has."

ONE NATION TO CONTEST STATE BY ELECTIONS : ELECTORATE OF PORT ADELAIDE AND RAMSAY. 11th FEBRUARY 2012.

One Nation will be contesting the two South Australian by-elections next year. The State Executive has endorsed Grant Carlin (pictured left) who will be contesting the seat of Port Adelaide (Election Date 11th Feb 2012) and Chris Walsh (pictured right) will be contesting the seat of Ramsay (Election Date 11th Feb 2012). Campaign Manager, Doug Giddings said these are excellent candidates and both reside in the area. For details of electorates click on maps above for a larger version. Campaign Manager can be contacted on 8294 2767 and Media enquiries to 8266 1985

GRANT CARLIN

Grant Carlin, 47, has a wife and two children, lives on a farm and has a horticultural business with his family and friends.

He has a strong Christian faith and believes people should help each other where they can.

He is driven by a desire to create good government as an example to the rest of the world.

By being a One Nation candidate he hopes he can lead by example as a member of parliament to improve conditions for all Australians.

Like others in One Nation, Grant says there are global forces at work to bring about international conformity and that those responsible must be resisted and stopped.

As Grant sees it, the nation's sovereignty is being ripped away and he is concerned for what this will mean for all Australians.

Grant may be contacted on 08 8280 8280 and he would like to hear from you.

CHRIS WALSH

Chris Walsh, 29, could be described as a typical family man with a wife and three children but there are aspects of his life that are certainly not typical.

For a start, he is an active Christian, associated with churches in Adelaide which are seen as a haven for people off the street needing food and positive guidance.

He is also associated with the Christian based Long Riders motorcycle group, which makes a point of involving families in its activities.

Chris's main political concern is that everyone seems to be losing their rights as government restricts and controls more and more of our activities, with growing implications for families through costs and regulations.

In addition to being a qualified plumber, Chris is a partner in a horticultural business.

His family interests include coaching school basketball where his son is involved and for additional fitness he does weight lifting at a gymnasium.

Chris may be contacted on 08 8280 8280 and he would like to hear from you.

Cash flows for SA Water employees - Public Service "cake icing" at it's highest level.

Household water bills are to increase to cover a $271 million blow-out in SA Water's operating costs. Source: Supplied

SA WATER is paying almost 200 employees more than $100,000 a year as its wages bill balloons to $110 million.

As consumers struggle to pay their surging water bills, SA Water's annual report shows that in the space of a year, the number of employees on salary packages worth more than $127,000 has jumped by 50 per cent, from 98 to 150.

There also has been a 30 per cent increase in the use of consultants at the utility, with more than $30 million spent on external experts - an increase of $7.5 million.

More than 400 of SA Water's 1567 employees earn more than $82,000 a year, with 189 earning more than $103,000, and 26 earning more than $200,000 a year. Eight have salary packages topping $300,000 - more than the Premier's $270,000 salary.

In the same period, SA Water recorded a profit of $258 million and returned a dividend to the Government of $169 million - but customer satisfaction fell. SA Water wages bill soars

In June, the Government announced a 50 per cent increase in the base water rate, and a 60 per cent increase in supply charge, sparking concern among welfare groups about the impact on consumers.

Opposition frontbencher Iain Evans said the Government should ask SA Water to examine its cost base to make efficiencies in the same way as the broader public service was being targeted for savings.

"You would think that the Government would be questioning SA Water and its expenditure," he said.

"The people who pay for these people are ultimately the taxpayers, through exorbitant water prices."

But Water Minister Paul Caica said the Government was unable to direct how SA Water was managed under the rules of its corporatisation, which occurred under the last Liberal government.

"The State Government no longer has direct responsibility for the day-to-day running of SA Water including setting wages and conditions," he said. "However, it is essential that SA Water is able attract and retain the best employees to deliver reliable and secure water services."

Mr Caica said the complexity of some major projects the State Government had commissioned through SA Water required short-term expertise.

"The State Government is confident we have a board in place to continue to ensure that SA Water operates as efficiently as it can and only passes on prices to consumers that are absolutely necessary and in line with the National Water Initiative."

An SA Water spokesman said salary packages had increased as a result of general market conditions.

"SA Water faces strong competition from the mining industry and other private enterprises to attract and retain employees," he said. "Given this competition, we need to make sure that we are competitive with other industries."

The spokesman said complex projects such as the Metropolitan Adelaide Service Delivery Project, the Desalination Project and the Christies Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade, had required specialist external help.

"Given that these types of projects have set time frames, it makes greater economic sense to bring in specialist help on a contract basis, when required, rather than hire and train additional staff," he said.

SA Council of Social Services executive director Ross Womersley said there needed to be greater accountability for customers to know price hikes were justified. "I would have thought that they would be looking to be as slim as they possibly could be in an effort to present the best possible image of their efficiency and effectiveness," he said.

"It would be prudent for SA Water to be very cautious about the numbers of people perceived to be earning very high salaries particularly relative to both the general public sector and the general population at a time when most people are struggling in the face of major increases in their water prices," he said

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

A One Nation assembly in Adelaide on October 9 combined the annual general meeting, a candidates' forum, the state president's report, a guest speaker and an encouraging and enlightening address by Queensland's state director of One Nation, Ian Nelson.

The programme was chaired by South Australia's campaign director and vice president, Doug Giddings, who maintained a lively interest by the many members and supporters in what turned out to be an action packed agenda.

The key messages from the meeting are that supporters are urged to encourage like minded people to become members of One Nation without charge for the first 12 months, that people with some knowledge of politics offer their services at election time and that members do what they can to encourage businesses and individuals to provide financial support.

As had already been announced publicly, One Nation will be contesting two South Australian by-elections next year for the electorates of Ramsay and Port Adelaide with two of our four endorsed candidates, Chris Walsh and Grant Carlin.

Because of widespread anti-Labor sentiment around Australia and because of a likely combined approach by some minor parties to dilute the vote for Labor candidates in particular, in addition to other factors, there now seems to be a distinct possibility that One Nation could get a candidate elected to parliament.

This optimism is supported by the virtual Labor wipeouts in Victoria, then New South Wales and now likely in Queensland next year.

Members of the public who want a conservative voice in parliament now have the opportunity to make it happen!

The three candidates involved in the candidates' forum were Grant Carlin, Chris Walsh and Robert Edmonds, who each presented an outline of their political concerns and touched on what they would do about them. Anton Horvat was unable to attend due to illness, as was his son and party secretary, Tommy.

The party's state president, Stan Batten, in delivering his 8th annual report, reported on One Nation's continuing association with like minded political parties, in particular Family First's very busy and widely recognised MP, the Hon Robert Brokenshire.

Much of Stan's report, reflected the cautious optimism felt by the party's executive and the general public that the tide has turned against Labor governments.

The guest speaker was One Nation's executive member Chris Steele, an astute political historian, who explained much of the background to the present chaos afflicting Australia and the rest of the world as a result, basically, of bad government, not just by the Labor Party.

On a totally different note, Queensland's state director of One Nation, Ian Nelson, spoke of the strong and increasing support for the party in his state and of the optimism by members that the state Labor government's days are numbered.

As a One Nation stalwart in Queensland, Ian knows Pauline Hanson personally and advises, in effect, that Australia may again see her return to politics.

Ian also reminded the meeting of the importance of having scrutineers to monitor the counting at polling places during elections.

We all heard about the allegedly misplaced votes and the challenge to the count that eventually denied Pauline success when she last stood for election to parliament.

In South Australia, the Labor Party was publicly exposed for its dirty tricks at last year's state election and has given itself a reputation for being less than honest wherever its supporters are involved in the election process, which includes counting the votes for other parties. This means if members and supporters can be available as scrutineers for a few hours after 6 pm on the next polling day their presence should deter any dishonest behaviour by Labor supporters involved in the counting.

It is likely that some of the minor conservative parties, including One Nation, will combine their resources to try to have one scrutineer at various polling places to watch that each vote for these parties is counted.

All you have to do is obey the rules about where to stand or sit for scrutineers and watch that every vote is put on the right heap.

The meeting concluded with the One Nation ladies being thanked by Doug Giddings for their work in providing afternoon tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes.

STATE PRESIDENTS REPORT 9th OCTOBER 2011

It pleases me once again to give you a brief report on the South Australian Division of One Nation.

Time has moved on and this is now my eight year in this role.

In the first instance I must recognise and acknowledge the commitment by the other 11 members of the State Executive. In this I must also include our political advisor and journalist Eric Cummins. We have an excellent team and I can assure you we run ‘the show’ so speak in a highly business like and professional - commonsense manner.

In our division we really don’t have positions as we are a team directing our energy for the betterment of the state and nation with the ultimate objective in getting members elected into parliament.

On a sadder note it was with deep regret we recorded the passing of our esteemed member Brian Richards on the 7th January this year. Brian gave many years of loyal service as a state executive member and had been our secretary for many years. Brian has been sadly missed.

The State Executive continues to meet regularly monthly and very rarely does any member absent.

During the year we have met with the Hon Robert Brokenshire MLC of Family First. This is very valuable to One Nation as we have an opportunity to present our views and ideas that are of benefit to the State. In a number of instances Mr. Brokenshire has raised some of our concerns in parliament. We also continue to meet with other like minded political parties and this is most valuable when it comes to allocating preferences at election time.

Your division has already endorsed candidates. We will be contesting the two South Australian by-elections next year in the seat of Ramsay and Port Adelaide and it is pleasing to know we have two very energetic candidates and they both will be giving it their best shot. We have been currently meeting with like minded parties that will be contesting these by-elections so that there can be a sensible exchange of preferences to ensure that Labor can be displaced in both electorates.

Our Newsletter continues to be distributed regularly every two months, our SA One Nation web site attracts an average of 250 ‘hits’ per day and continues to increase.

This division has regular contacts with other State Divisions, and it is most pleasing to have Ian Nelson, the State Director of One Nation Queensland Division here with us today.

I am encouraged as the support and momentum from the public to One Nation is growing.

We must maintain our membership base, this is so vital to enable us to maintain our State Registration and Federal Registration with the electoral commission. Without our registration we are not able to field candidates. I invite you if you haven’t already joined us, please do so today – at a no cost membership fee for the first twelve months.

We must continue to look forward. Today’s events are shaped by tomorrow’s implications more than they are by yesterdays results. What has been will never be again.

We in One Nation welcome change, because that is what living is all about. Our executive is coping with these challenges, your support is recognised and valued, and my invitation to you is to stay with us and to enable us to succeed.

Together we will make a difference because we have the determination and a strong sense of responsibility which will eventually guide us to victory.

Thank you.

Stan Batten, State President, 9th October 2011

Poll says retailers will pass on Carbon Tax cost

  • From: AAP   August 07, 2011 4:11PM

PASS THE BUCK: The big polluters hit hardest by the carbon tax are likely to pass on extra costs to the consumer.

MORE than half of Australian retailers intend to pass on any costs incurred because of the carbon tax, a new survey shows.

The Australian Retailers Association study also found almost 80 per cent of shop owners thought they would lose trade as a result of the tax.

The association surveyed 500 retailers after the federal government announced details of its plan to put a price on carbon from mid-2012.

ARA executive director Russell Zimmerman says the results show the carbon tax will add insult to injury for retailers already battling falling consumer confidence.

"This isn't about big business whining over cost increases and their bottom line,'' he said in a statement.

"These are small retailers who are families, single mothers or young couples trying to support themselves.''

More than 80 per cent of the retailers surveyed thought the carbon tax would affect the amount consumers spend.

Some 85 per cent felt the carbon tax would reduce their profitability.

Only six per cent of the businesses said they would not pass increased costs on to their customers.

A quarter said they could not pass on these costs because of poor consumer sentiment, while 56 per cent said they definitely would do so.

Mr Zimmerman said retailers had already tried to reduce their carbon footprint but found costs were increasing anyway.

"Some have managed to take environmentally friendly measures that have reduced their energy bills, only to find with the rising costs of utilities they're now back to where they started in the first place,'' he said.

The State Executive next meet on the 7th February 2012

The State Executive Meets regularly  every Month (excepting January), The next meeting to be held on the 7th February 2012.

The State Executive are currently working on a number of very important issues and some of these include 1) On what can be done to reduce the crime rate in South Australia, 2) Campaign for next federal election, 3) Housing affordability- On how the younger generation can be helped in acquiring their first home, 4) To stop the push for an australian republic 5) and illegal immigration.

NOTHING HAS CHANGED

On the 19th May 2004 a prominent member of parliament wrote to one of our members, and in part he stated :

"It is not surprising that you have learned that neither of the major political parties in South Australia honour anything at all other than their (in the first instance) survival as a political organisation, after which they are willing to give consideration to the structure of the parliament, the way they have changed the law and the Constitution to suit their goals, in order to ensure the survival of each other (them - including the Democrats). You are correct to say that they would rather protect their corrupt - and profitable - tryst with the corrupt media. That has been my experience - all too sadly. Naturally then, it follows that the media will not voluntarily publicly expose these facts."

FARMERS CALL FOR AN EARLY ELECTION

Dear Rob Oakeshott MP

Dear Tony Windsor MP

At a WA Farmers Federation Rally held on Thursday 14th July 2011 in Perth WA with 500 Pastoralists, farmers and city people in attendance, it was proven by the following resolution that they look to you to take action over the present situation whereby the Government of the day, of which you are a part, takes absolutely no notice of the majority of the Australian people.

It is up to you Rob Oakeshott MP and Tony Windsor MP to follow the flag of a true Independent, to bow to the wishes of the Australian people and so commence the action needed to bring forth a Federal Election as soon as possible.

The resolution following was carried unanimously.

That members of this rally call on Federal Members of Parliament, Tony Windsor MP and Rob Oakeshott MP to raise the flag of Independents under which they were elected, to show leadership and compassion for the wishes of the huge majority of the Australian people who are against the Carbon Tax and withdraw their support from the present Government led by Julia Gillard, so enabling a Federal Election to be called.

Pensioners share homes - and pain

  • Political Reporter Sarah Martin
  • From: The Advertiser
  • July 09, 201112:31AM

PENSIONERS struggling with cost-of-living pressures are being pushed to the brink, with some considering house-sharing to cope, welfare agencies say.

Water and electricity price increases from July 1, along with public housing rent increases, are hitting the state's pensioners hard, with a single pension worth just $335 a week before rent.

Mary McGuiness, manager of Whalers Housing Association, said elderly people in her organisation's community housing were considering moving in together to cope with cost increases.

"It has got to a really serious situation," she said. "We house a lot of elderly people and they are talking about getting property together because they can't afford to live independently."

Ms McGuiness said that not using heaters, not heating food, and rationing television and lighting were some of the actions pensioners were taking to save money.

Whalers resident Daphne Decaux, 84, said she was worried about cost of living increases and would only boil the kettle once a day, keeping the water warm in a flask to save money.

"I find that you have to be very, very careful to manage all right," she said. "It is hard going."

Another pensioner, Chris Groeneveld, said that the Government was targeting the "poorest of the poor" by charging 25 per cent of the pension for rent.

Council on the Ageing chief executive Ian Yates said a pension increase intended for cost of living increases was being targeted by the State Government for those in public housing.

"They are cutting electricity to save money and that contains significant dangers in terms of their health and wellbeing," he said.

Housing Trust Tenants Association assistant secretary Julie Macdonald said when people could not afford to live in public housing, there was "something very wrong with the system".

"If the State Government continues to put these price rises on these pensioners they are going to break under the strain," she said.

Family First MLC Rob Brokenshire said he would move legislation to give Parliament the power to veto future rent increases for pensioners in public housing.

"This Government . . . is ripping off low-income earning tenants (in a way) that now makes it difficult for them to lead anything like a reasonable lifestyle."

Housing Minister Jennifer Rankine did not respond to questions about the impact

of cost of living increases on pensioners.

However, she said: "The Government is committed to assisting low-income households with the cost of living and increased various concessions in recent budgets."

RATE GAP HITS PENSIONERS

Pensioners' concessions continue to lag further behind as utility cost rises.

Pensioners who expected the world to change dramatically in South Australia's state budget on the 9th June were horribly disappointed.

Water bills continue to rise and those pensioners on a concession card holder have only had an increase in the concession to 25 percent of eligible customers' total water bills from 1st July 2011.

As utility cost and food prices continue to soar pensioners in many cases are regretfully cutting back on medicines, prescriptions as well as heating.

One Nation, state president, Stan Batten says this is appalling for governments to financially neglect the aged pensioners.

It is time governments recognised the impact these increased charges on pensioners are having and many are deprived of any form of luxury.

ONE NATION ENDORSES CANDIDATES

The State Executive have Endorsed the following candidates to contest the next election. The early endorsement was a result of increasing support for the party and to give the candidates sufficient time to meet with as many electors as possible.

The endorsed candidates are :

Grant Carlin, Robert Edmonds, Anton Horvat and Christopher Walsh.

Profile and contact details of Grant Carlin and Chris Walsh at commencement of this page.

PROFILE : ANTON HORVAT

Anton Horvat, 45, and his wife and family live in Adelaide where he runs an interstate and local vending machine business.

As a member of the public and a political candidate for One Nation, he follows what is happening to our society with increasing concern and wants to make many changes and improvements that would be welcomed by most people.

Anton believes there are many deficiencies in public administration and that politicians generally spend much of their time sitting on their hands doing nothing about them. He says the amount of money wasted on government departments and agencies that people don't want or need is astronomical.

Even the simple act of going through the Adelaide telephone directory to look at the long lists of what the state and federal governments control gives a clear idea of the extent of unnecessary and wasteful spending by bureaucrats and politicians.

Anton belies that many people are beginning to understand that Labor governments want to dismantle Australia's traditional beliefs and values, which is why it's important that people support a conservative party like One Nation.

CARBON TAX THREAT TO ONE STEEL JOBS

(From 'The Advertiser' 2nd July 2011 Article by Christopher Russell, Business Editor)

OneSteel's Whyalla steelworks is making no profit and cannot bear the burden of a carbon tax if the rest of the world doesn't also price emissions, the company's South Australia head said yesterday. (1st July).

"The steel industry in Australia is at risk with a carbon price unless there is some significant support which must hold until our major competitors have the same cost impost," chief executive of the Whyalla operation Mark Parry said.

"The steel industry is very trade-exposed. People either buy local or they buy imports. "For many product groups, our market share is only in the mid- 40s - up to 60 per cent of steel is imported.

"We've got a business that's not making any money and you can't put a further tax on that business and expect us to continue to invest and to hold jobs."

Mr. Parry was speaking along-side Australian Bankers Association chief executive Steven Munchenberg and University of Adelaide energy technology centre head Gus Nathan at a panel discussion hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce (SA).

While the three panelists came from very different perspectives, they shared some common views.

All three said reducing carbon dioxide emissions was necessary but the carbon tax and Australia's position had been poorly explained and therefore was badly misunderstood and subject to political jousting instead of debate.

"We're not saying there shouldn't be a price on carbon," Mr Parry said. However, OneSteel had already done all it could to become more energy-efficient and to cut emissions and the process of steel making was such that no more could be done.

He expected competitors to also face carbon pricing regimes in their own countries within five to 10 years.

Mr Munchenberg said banks needed clarity on the tax because it would change behaviour and therefore economic activity.

"That's going to affect different businesses and affect their credit attractiveness and ability to service debt," he said.

"So, we've got a very serious interest on that side." "Equally, if the science is correct ..... then we're going to be dealing with a lot more climatic disruption". "That also brings cost."

He said the financial community wanted to understand and establish the framework of trading instruments companies would need for the tax and later ETS.

Professor Nathan was concerned by the impression Australia was going it alone when overseas pricing regimes were already established, such as in the Nordic countries and Germany.

"Overseas there's more than 20 year's experience of carbon taxes and the experience has been that the GDP has still increased and that there can be no net increase in CPI," he said.

WHAT AUSTRALIA FACES

At present we now face a number of sharp challenges that have arisen due to a declining political situation:

  • Global Warming : The fuss over climate change has led to the immediate signing of the Kyoto Protocol, an agreement that further erodes our sovereignty. We risk being taxed on our own carbon emissions.

  • Free Trade : Without tariff protection, our primary industries are annihilated by countries adopting slave labour. We have been forced to become a service industry in the global order.

  • Immigration : Immigration has reached its highest levels ever, leaving the country faced with thousands who are simply incompatible with Australian society and culture.

  • Water - Fuel - Power : We are facing unprecedented resource shortages due to the incompetency of the Coalition and ALP. We need new solutions to compete with the modern age.

  • Reconciliation : Rudd's apology over the vastly exaggerated "Stolen Generation" leaves Australians at the mercy of compensation claims. There will be increasing moves for Aboriginal land rights claim.

  • The UN : UN membership is at odds with Australian sovereignty. This organisation desires a world government equipped with a powerful military to control all nations.

  • A Republic : There are pushes for an Australian republic. This will obviously destroy our constitutional monarchist system of government and open an avenue for power hungry politicians.WHAT ONE NATION INTENDS TO DO

  • Industry Protection : One Nation would takes steps to reverse the current devastation by protecting primary producers and strategic manufacturers from unfair free trade agreements.

  • Aboriginal Affairs : One Nation would repeal the Native Title legislation and ensure that funds are properly utilised in improving health and education for all Aboriginal people.

  • Law and Order : One Nation would take steps to strongly support the traditional family. It would also impose strict laws and harsh punishment in fighting those who deliberately aim to corrode the family unit.

  • Immigration : One Nation would urgently review immigration laws to take into account : (a) employment requirements, (b) environmental concerns, (c) social integration.

  • Foreign Ownership : One Nation would restrict foreign ownership of Australian assets. It would also cease the continuing sale of public utilities and assets.

  • Skilled Workforce : One Nation would address the shortages in the skilled workforce by establishing technical colleges and training Australian workers before importing overseas labour.

  • Energy : One Nation would control our energy resources and encourage true renewable energy use. We would also seek to reduce liquid fuel prices to a reasonable cost.

  • Taxation : One Nation would immediately review the burdening GST system. It believes in taxation systems that encourage personal and business advancement with sufficient revenue for public service initiatives.

CITIZENS INITIATED REFERENDA

One Nation supports CIR as a system that allows all members of society to have a direct say in Government decision making. Representative Democracy only allows individuals or parties the right to decide for the rest of us.

One Nation believes in not only upholding the right but the need for all Australians to effectively raise debate on issues of concern and have the mechanism to democratically pursue those issues to produce an outcome of legislative change.
