Cut The Politicians

Wednesday, January 28, 2015
Queensland has 89 state members of Parliament. A Queensland state member of Parliament has approx. 30,000 voters in any given electorate. A Federal member has approx. 90,000.

In today’s electronic and travel age we don’t need the number of state politicians we currently have. If a federal member can represent 90,000 there is no reason a state member cannot represent 60,000 voters. Hence this would reduce the number of state politicians by half and save the Queensland taxpayers an estimated $1 million per year per member and more with superannuation not having to be paid on retirement.

ONE NATION CALLS FOR THE REDUCTION OF 89 STATE SEATS IN QUEENSLAND TO 45.
