Into the Flames

Pauline Hanson is proud to announce that Simon Roylance is the One Nation lead candidate for the Senate, in the 2016 Federal Election.

Mr Roylance, with his wife and family, has lived in regional Victoria (McEwen electorate) for over 25 years. At the age of 11, Mr Roylance knew that he wanted to follow in his family’s footsteps and contribute to his community in the capacity as a firefighter. He originally joined the Wallan fire brigade as a Junior and became a Senior firefighter at the age of 16, progressing to the position of Brigade Officer and then Lieutenant.  In 2007, Mr Roylance further contributed to his community by joining the Victorian Police force for 6 years as a general duties officer and he was posted in both regional and metropolitan stations.  In 2013, Mr Roylance left Victoria Police to pursue his passion of working with the Country Fire Authority (CFA), which landed him the role of Vegetation Officer; his job primarily involved planning and educating people about planned burning on behalf of the Victorian State Government. Mr Roylance has been actively involved in the CFA for the past 16 years.

Mr Roylance’s fire fighting and leadership skills were tested on Black Saturday in 2009, when tragic fires tore through the McEwen electorate. On that day, his role changed very quickly from being a member of a fire appliance to commanding and controlling a small team of three tankers which had kilometres of fire-line to control along with many medical emergencies, house evacuations, missing persons and structural fires to deal with. For his courage and contribution, Mr Roylance was awarded the National Emergency Medal and later went on to being invited by the CFA, Government and ACMI to assist with the production of a documentary to help youth deal with Natural Disasters.  The program is now an important part of High Schools Australia wide and can be viewed on ‘YouTube’ Internationally.

Mr Roylance is a proud Australian who is genuinely concerned about the future of the country and our younger generations. He has become increasingly frustrated by the way in which our state and federal governments are no longer representing the best interests for Australia and the Australian public and after being consistently disappointed with decisions made by both Liberal and Labor governments, Mr Roylance has chosen to contribute to the One Nation team, where he has the freedom to voice the concerns of the state of Victoria. “For too long now, I like many others have sat back and watched this great country of ours be pulled apart, sold off, its citizens ignored, its families run into the ground, traditions forgotten and ignored, the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. For me, enough is enough. I am an ordinary citizen but I have a vast knowledge of community experience and concerns and I will stand up for the people of Victoria”, he says.

Mr Roylance strongly believes that Australia's future depends on the decisions we make today and if elected, the people will have real representation in Parliament through him and a federal member who will be active within the community.
