Brad Trussell has been endorsed for the seat of Ipswich West in the upcoming Queensland State Election.

At 27 years of age, Brad returns to the One Nation team as the youngest candidate yet he has always had an interest in politics and now believes it is the time to stand up before it’s too late, for the sake of his new, young family.

Brad stood as a candidate for the One Nation team in its resurgent 2016 Federal Campaign for the Lower House seat of Oxley where he ran 4th after a hard fought campaign.

Brad stands as a candidate, “for my young son and future children. I want him to grow up with the same freedoms I had as a child and in a country with opportunities. I fear for the future of this country as I see manufacturing declining, high levels of unemployment or under-employment not to mention crime is on the rise. I don’t want that for him or others’ children. I believe it is important that people have a role and valued place in society.”

Brad, who has been employed since he was 16 and previously worked in the mining industry, now works as a welder in one of Australia’s top Bull Bar manufacturing companies; his craftsmanship has impressed those throughout his industry. Bradley’s wife’s family are also in the transport industry as owner-operator truck drivers and he wants to ensure that the industry does not die from any other unfair transport orders pushed by unions.

“If elected, I will not allow big business and union-puppet politicians to make decisions which will be detrimental to our trucking industry. Australian business and farmers rely on trucks and without them the country will stop. I have been told that there are truckies who committed suicide over the RSRT order. It should never have got to that stage and both Liberal, LNP and some independent politicians were asleep at the wheel when they passed the order; they did not have the vision to see what it would do to the country and because of Pauline Hanson bringing it to the attention of the media, and then the public, enough noise was made for it to be stopped.”

Brad also believes that our welfare system needs an overhaul, “let’s make sure that those who require a helping hand are looked after and those who are taking advantage of our generous system are made accountable. For the amount of money our government is spending on looking after refugees, how many Australian lives could be saved and improved through allocating that money into healthcare, looking after our elderly and our veterans? Why should hard working Australians have to live their retirement in poverty? It is heart breaking to see people around the world suffer but our politicians seem to care more about others than those already here in Australia,” he says.

If elected, Brad will also hold the major party politicians to account, aim to cut politician’s spending instead of public funding, and inform the public of the truth. “I see major party politicians shifting the blame when they cannot be bothered to help their constituents. My door will always be open to people and I will do everything in my power to help them. I will not take being a member of Parliament for granted, it is a privilege and I will truly be a ‘servant’ to the people and act on their wishes, not tell them what I think they need like the major party politicians.”

“I ask the people of Ipswich West to let me be their voice. I may be young but that also means that I have the required enthusiasm and energy to make a difference to this area of QLD. I will be taking all the input from the community and the electors. If elected I will be committed to the people of this community for a very long time.”
